Lines eager to open Wakefield FC account at Woodley Sports

WAKEFIELD FC are looking forward to playing on Woodley Sports’ 3G pitch when the sides meet tomorrow, Saturday, according to boss Paul Lines.

Some teams look at the artificial surface as an advantage for the home team.

But the Bears, looking for their first win since mid-September, will have no fear ahead of the crucial Evo-Stik Division 1 North contest.

“It’s not a problem for us,” said Lines.

“The lads are actually all looking forward to going there and playing on it.”

The Stade France side are yet to pick up a point since Lines took charge.

But he’s confident things will change, and he sees no reason why that change can’t start this weekend.

“I don’t see why we can’t go there and win,” Lines continued.

“We’ve been playing decent football lately even though the results haven’t been going for us.

“When we get those first points I’m sure more will start to follow.”

Ossett Town will look to extend their four-game unbeaten run when they welcome Trafford to Stade France (kick-off 3pm).

Ossett Albion will look to get back on-track when they visit Skelmersdale United (kick-off 3pm).

The Warehouse Systems Stadium saw their seven-game unbeaten run come to an end in midweek with a 3-2 loss against Radcliffe Borough.

Fourth-placed Skelmersdale will prove a tough nut to crack but Albion’s recent good form will stand them in good stead.

The coach will leave Ossett Cricket Club, Dimple Wells, at 12 noon on Saturday and supporters are welcome. Seats are priced at £10 per person.
