WAKEFIELD Harrier Annabel Mason helped Great Britain’s U20s team to an historic clean-sweep in the Bupa Great Edinburgh International Cross Country International Challenge last Saturday.
The 16 year-old enjoyed another superb run to take sixth place in the junior race and complete an all-British top-six in the event televised by the BBC.
The defending champion Emelia Gorecka led the field with a time of 13 minutes 46 seconds and she was followed by her Great Britain team-mates who crossed the line in quick succession with Mason clocking a time of 14:07 for the 4km run.
Senior star Charlene Thomas competed in a high-class invitational women’s race, run over 3km.
Genzebe Dibaba took first place, five seconds ahead of Olympic 5,000m champion Meseret Defar.
