Mixed fortunes greet Ossett teams in Evo-Stik Premier League

MIXED fortunes greeted Ossett's two Evo-Stik Premier League sides as they returned to Division 1 North action on Tuesday night.

Ossett Albion and Ossett Town have seen recent matches postponed due to the recent cold snap but got back on the pitch on Tuesday night.

Albion made the short trip to Garforth Town and returned with a superb 3-2 victory to boost their hopes of avoiding relegation this season.

The Warehouse Systems Stadium club led 2-0 thanks to goals from Richard Tracey and Matthew Patterson before Town mounted a comeback to level with two goals in the last four minutes through Mathew Mathers and Ben Thornton.

There was one last twist in the tale, however, as Albion bounced straight back to snatch all three points thanks to a last-minute Adam Hayton penalty.

Things didn't go so well for new Ossett Town manager Eric Gilchrist as the Stade France side suffered a 2-0 home defeat against Farsley FC.

Gilchrist took control for the first time following the departure of Phil Sharpe but goals from Ryan Laight and Adam Muller, the latter from the penalty spot, gace Farsley maximum points.
