Ossett Town eye FA Trophy upset against Workington Town

OSSETT Town will be out to cause an FA Trophy upset tomorrow, Saturday, when they host Workington Town in the Third Qualifying Round (kick-off 3pm).

Victory for Craig Elliott’s men would see them enter the hat for the First Round and a potential money-spinning tie against Blue Square Premier sides including Lincoln City, Grimsby Town and Stockport County.

Town will have to be at the top of their game to overcome an in-form Blue Square North Workington side, however.

The Cumbrians are unbeaten in their last four matches and sit tenth in the table - making them favourites to progress at Stade France.

In contrast, Town will need to show a marked improvement on recent form with just one win - in the last round of the FA Trophy - coming from their last seven matches.

Wakefield FC will probably be pleased to face an away clash in Evo-Stik Division 1 North this weekend.

The Bears travel to Farsley FC on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) in good form on their travels with three wins and two draws from their last five away league matches.

In contrast, Paul Lines’s men have struggled for points at home - losing all eight of their home matches in the league.

Ossett Albion have a double chance to end their poor run of form with two matches in the space of three days.

The Dimple Wells club, who’ve lost their last three matches by the same 1-0 scoreline, visit Burscough tomorrow (kick-off 3pm) before making another trip across the Pennines to take on Curzon Ashton on Monday night (kick-off 7.45pm).
