OSSETT Town U15s suffer defeat

OSSETT Town U15s suffered a disappointing defeat to Huddersfield League leaders Churwell Lions but bounced back to record a comfortable win in their Charles Rice League campaign.

Town began brightly in their clash with Lions and led 2-0 at the break thanks to goals from Jack Holden and Lewis Kilburn.

However, the table-toppers turned the game on its head with three second-half goals.

Town's trip to Durkar in the Charles Rice League was a different story however and this time, Ossett built on a 2-0 half-time lead to win 4-1.

Harry Townend (2), Kyle Kenningley and Joe Hitch hit the target.

Ossett Town U14s A cruised into the last 16 of the County Cup with an 8-1 demolition of Heckmondwike Town.

Goals came from Joe Turfrey (2), Dominic Sykes, Daniel Wright, Ben Fox, James Ruane, Louis Spurr and player of the match Connor Daniel.

Town U14s B team also progressed to the fourth round of the County Cup but their tie against HAFC proved to be much closer.

Goals from Waqas Awad, Ryan White, Sam Pashley and Mo Sidat put Ossett 4-1 up before the visitors fought back to make it 4-3 but Town held on to secure the win.

The man of the match award was shared by the team.

Ossett Town U13s returned to winning ways in the Charles Rice Premier League with a 4-2 success over Altofts Juniors.

Town recovered from a goal down to lead 2-1 courtesy of strikes from Ryan Kellet and Ross Peters and although the visitors netted an equaliser, Luke Smith and Thomas Smith hit the target to steer Ossett to the points.

Peters scooped the man of the match award.
