Ossett Albion have night to forget at Bamber Bridge

OSSETT Albion had a night to forget in Evo-Stik Division 1 North last night when they suffered a heavy 4-0 loss at Bamber Bridge.

It took just three minutes for Ryan Salmon to open the scoring for the Lancashire side as Albion struggled to adapt to the heavy pitch.

The visitors had a chance to level but Marc Thompson’s shot was well wide.

Two goals in four minutes put Bridge on-course for victory as first Billy McKenna doubled the hosts’ lead and then Luke Atherton put Bridge firmly in control by netting their third.

Richard Tracey had a couple of chances to get the Warehouse Systems Stadium club back into the contest but the game was all-but over ten minutes into the second half when McKenna netted his second of the night.

Things were made worse for Albion with injuries to full-backs Stefan Holt and Arron Guiry.

Ossett Town’s scheduled home game against Salford City was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Stade France.
