Rangers kick-off at home

NATIONAL Conference new boys Stanley Rangers kick-off their first ever campaign in the league with a home encounter against Ovenden, writes Leon Wobschall.

Rangers, who have been accepted in to Division Two of the league, will see their season get underway on Saturday September 1 while rivals Normanton Knights will open at Milford Marlins.

In the Premier Division, last season's surprise package Eastmoor Dragons will start life with new coach Chris Chester at West Bowling on Saturday August 18.

And Hull KR forward Chester will pit his wits against Wakefield Wildcats' Paul March and Brett Ferres, joint coaches of Thornhill Trojans, in his first match on home soil on Wednesday August 22.
