Wakefield Trinity Wildcats pushed Super League leaders Huddersfield Giants all the way at the Rapid Solcitors Stadium on Sunday but fell to a slender 18-16 defeat.
The match was in the balance right until the final hooter, with Wakefield’s Lee Smith having what would have been a match-winning try chalked off by referee Richard Silverwood for what he deemed a forward pass in the build-up.
