Town and Albion, set to return to competitive action
Town and Albion set for first UniBond League outings for six weeks
OSSETT'S UniBond Premier League teams, Town and Albion, are set to return to competitive action for the first time in six weeks on Saturday.
Peter Daniel's Town welcome Ashton United to Stade France in the Premier Division while Eric Gilchrist's troops face a tough trip to Division 1 North leaders Lancaster City, both kick-off at 3pm.
Both teams have seen all of their league matches since Saturday, December 12, postponed due to the recent heavy snowfall and sub-zero temperatures across the country.
And the duo will be looking to start the new year in impressive style after ending 2009 at the wrong end of their respective league tables.
Daniel's has taken charge of just two Town matches since his appointment as manager at the start of December.
A 2-2 draw at Kendal was followed by a disappointing 3-1 home defeat against Whitby Town, leaving Daniels still looking for his first win ahead of the visit of Ashton on Saturday.
It's a tougher ask for Albion, who travel to the Giant Axe with Lancaster having lost just once at home all season.
The Warehouse Systems Stadium squad side fell to a 4-1 defeat on home soil against City in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.
