Wakefield FC show character in battling Radcliffe Borough draw
WELCOME RETURN: Fernando Moke scored for Wakefield against Radcliffe in his second match since returning from Ossett Town
Wakefield FC bounced back from their heavy weekend defeat at New Mills to take a point from Tuesday night’s Evo-Stik Division 1 North clash against Radcliffe Borough.
The Bears slumped to a 6-0 defeat at promotion-chasing Mills but showed plenty of character to come from two goals down and draw 2-2 with Borough at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
Matthew Chadwick fired the visitors into an eleventh-minute lead and Martin Parker doubled their advantage just before the half-hour mark.
It left Paul Lines’s men with it all to do but the hosts made the perfect start to the second half when Chris Hitchings reduced the deficit.
The leveller came in the 68th minute when Fernando Moke, only recently returning from Ossett Town, scored from the penalty spot after a Radcliffe player handled the ball inside the area.
The point stretched Wakefield’s unbeaten home run to four matches and moved them a point further away from relegation trouble.
