Wakefield Wildcats reach semi-finals of Carnegie Floodlit 9s

A STRONG Wakefield Wildcats team suffered an extra-time defeat to Bradford Bulls in the semi-finals of the Carengie Floodlit 9s tournament last night, Wednesday.

John Kear's men reached the last four at Headingley after beating Wales 14-8 and Leeds Rhinos 18-12 in their group games.

Daryl Millard's hat-trick and Ben Jeffries' touch-down made it 22-22 in the semi-final clash with Bradford Bulls but the Wildcats were denied a place in the final by Rikki Sheriffe's extra-time try.

The tournament was won by Wigan Warriors who defeated Bulls 20-16 in the final.

Leeds Rhinos' winger Jamal Chisholm retained his tile of fastest man in rugby league in the sprint event.
