Yorkshire to host Sussex in Division One opener
YORKSHIRE will host Sussex at Headingley Carnegie in their first match back in Division One of the LV County Championship.
The fixtures for the 2013 season were released today and give the Tykes a home opener on April 10-13 in their 150th Anniversary season following promotion last season.
The first away match for Jason Gillespie’s men comes at Chester-le-Street against Durham and a friendly against old foes Lancashire, who were relegated from the top-flight last season, is sandwiched between the first two County Championship matches.
Yorkshire will play at Scarborough against Northamptonshire on June 5-9 and against Durham on August 28-31 and the season finishes with a trip to the Kia Oval to face Surrey over four days on September 24-27.
The fixtures for the Friends Life t20 competition have also been released and Yorkshire will be hoping to go even better than their Finals Day outing in 2012.
The Tykes start their campaign against Derbyshire Falcons on June 28 at Headingley and finish it on July 28 at Leicestershire Foxes. Finals Day will be on Saturday, August 17.
The CB40 campaign starts at Glamorgan on Sunday, May 5 for Yorkshire, and the reverse encounter marks the final match of the competition at Headingley on Monday, August 26.
