Wakefield Wildcats head coach Richard Agar is targeting an improved attacking display as his team face Leeds Rhinos tonight.

The Wildcats lost 20-18 to Leeds at Headingley last week, and Agar feels attacking will be important tonight.

He said: “We want to defend with the same vigour, some of our contacts were very good.

“It’s admirable that we gave ourselves as good a chance as we did, but we know we need to be a lot better in possession.

“We didn’t have enough sustained pressure and the ramifications of that were that we looked impatient and disjointed when we got into good ball, which is unlike us.

“We didn’t have enough through the 80 minutes to really build anything or sustain it.”

Both teams will welcome back key players, Dean Collis and Taulima Tautai returning for Wakefield and Kevin Sinfield back for Leeds, and Agar feels they could be crucial in deciding the game.

He said: “Everybody knows how good a player Dean Collis is, so he will definitely give us a lift, and Taulima in his two appearances has shown he’s going to add some firepower.

“Looking at Kevin’s inclusion, everyone knows what he brings to Leeds.

“He knows how to make the right plays at the right time, never gets ruffled in any scenario and obviously has a great kicking game.

“The last two or three games have been really tight encounters and goal-kicking played its part for Leeds last week.”
