WAKEFIELD Trinity Wildcats suffered a last-gasp 34-30 defeat to Castleford Tigers in a pulsating Super League XVI derby at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
The hosts led 24-22 at the end of a see-saw first-half in which Glenn Morrison, Paul Johnson, Matthew Wildie and Semi Tadulala bagged tries, all improved by Dale Morton.
Nick Youngquest edged Tigers ahead before he was sin-binned for interference and Wakefield took advantage through Chris Dean’s try and Morton’s penalty that gave them a 30-28 advantage with 10 minutes remaining.
However, the visitors rallied and Dean Widders dummied his way over to win it, Danny Orr converting, with just three minutes left.
