INJURY-hit Wakefield Trinity Wildcats conceded eight tries as their week-long training camp in France ended with a 46-10 loss to Catalan Dragons.
Former Great Britain stand-off Leon Pryce starred in his debut for the Dragons while Dean Collis and Ali Lauitiiti bagged the tries for Wildcats.
However, Wakefield were rocked by injuries to Andy Raleigh (rib cartilage), Danny Washbrook (hamstring strain) and Paul Johnson, who will require dental work after suffering a blow to the mouth.
Matty Wildie was taken ill overnight and missed the game, while Frankie Mariano also watched the game from the sidelines having sustained a bruised toe during training.
Wildcats head coach Richard Agar said: “Some areas of our defence are going to need a fair bit of work.
“We got split down the middle far too easily at times and Leon Pryce really took advantage of that on a few occasions.
“We can’t afford to do that but we’re still learning and it will come.
“Defensively it was disappointing but I thought in attack we did quite well. We made good metres, kicked fairly well at times in the first half but obviously when you concede eight tries it isn’t great.”
Raleigh’s rib injury is expected to keep him out for a fortnight so he will miss Trinity’s next pre-season game against Castleford Tigers at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium on Sunday.
