FORMER Wakefield Trinity Wildcats favourite Duncan MacGillivray has been appointed head coach of the NT (Northern Territories) Institute of Sport rugby league program in Australia.
MacGillivray, 34, played for NRL clubs Penrith and South Sydney before joining the Wildcats in 2004.
The Australian, who played international rugby for Scotland, retired at the end of the 2008 season following a successful four-year spell in Wakefield.
MacGillivray wants to develop rugby league as a leading sport throughout the Northern Territory, saying: “During my time at the NTIS I plan to nurture and mentor my athletes to become better footballers, while developing the skills and knowledge of rugby league within our own competition.”
