FORWARD Gareth Hock ran in a hat-trick as Super League XVI leaders Wigan Warriors overcame Wakefield Trinity Wildcats 48-6 at the DW Stadium.
The hosts opened-up a 12-0 lead inside 10 minutes thanks to scores from Hock and George Carmont, both improved by Pat Richards.
Josh Griffin’s try, converted by Josh Veivers, opened Wildcats’ account and the visitors continued to threaten with Griffin, Semi Tadulala and Frankie Mariano all going close to crossing the whitewash.
However, Wigan surged into a 30-6 half-time lead courtesy of scores from Richards, Sam Tomkins and Josh Charnley.
Warriors made sure of their sixth straight win in the second period as Tomkins crossed for his second before Hock touched-down twice to complete his hat-trick.
