WAKEFIELD Wildcats have lost hot prospect Joe Walker to Super League rivals Huddersfield Giants.

The 19-year-old centre or back row was Wakefield’s Academy Player of the Year last season but has joined the growing list of Wildcats players to make the switch to the Galpharm Stadium.

Luke George, Aaron Murphy and Tommy Lee have already moved to the Giants since the end of the season.

Wildcats have yet to confirm Walker’s departure but Huddersfield’s head of youth development Pete Riding, Wakefield’s former player performance manager, has announced the capture.

As part of the arrangement the Giants have released Sam Fletcher and the centre is expected to move in the other direction and join Wakefield.
