OUTGOING Wakefield Trinity Wildcats head coach John Kear has admitted that he has “been surprised by some of the opportunities” that will be available to him when he leaves the club at the end of the season.
After five years at Trinity, Kear will depart the club following the Super League XVI campaign and admits that he is not going to make a hasty decision on what to do next.
He said: “I am not going to rush a decision. I have promised the wife a holiday and that will be first on the agenda.”
Kear has been linked with coaching roles at other clubs including Castleford Tigers but Kear has other irons in the fire. He said: “There have been developments in the background.
“I have been surprised by some of the opportunities that have arisen and I need to take time out to weigh them up.
“I am very open to what happens next and there are higher education and media roles as well as coaching jobs in different positions and levels.
“I will consider all the options and make sure that I am doing the right thing.”
