HEAD coach John Kear had nothing but praise for his players following their dramatic 26-24 Super League XVI win over Hull KR on Sunday.
Kieran Hyde held his nerve to slot over a penalty after the hooter had sounded to clinch the points at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
In a see-saw match, Wakefield conceded a 20-6 lead to trail 24-20 with only 10 minutes remaining but the hosts hit back in the closing stages.
And the team spirit shown by the Wildcats was met with delight by Kear who said: “You can kick this group and put them down, then they will get up and have a dig back. That typifies the group of players we have got.”
Trinity continue to defy their critics this season and the Wildcats boss admitted that he is relishing the challenge, saying: “I have enjoyed working this season as much as I have for ages.
“It is first class working with these boys, they are a joy to be around.
“It is great stuff. I am really enjoying myself this year and I think they are as well.”
