WAKEFIELD Trinity Wildcats head coach John Kear has described his team’s Carnegie Challenge Cup fifth round clash with Castleford Tigers as “a great draw”.
Wildcats’ reward for their 50-10 win at Doncaster last Sunday is a televised home clash with their local rivals in the next round on Saturday, May 21 and Kear is looking forward to it, saying: “Every Super League team would have preferred lower league opposition but you don’t always get what you want.
“If you are going to play another Super League team you want to be at home and it is a great tie because it is spicy.
“Wakefield and Castleford derbies are always spicy and the prize is a big one.
“It is a great draw and people should want to get down here and witness the atmosphere.”
