REFEREE Thierry Alibert has been dropped for this weekend’s round of Super League action.

Alibert made the headlines on Sunday for allowing a Scott Grix try on the seventh tackle of the set as Warrington Wolves defeated Wakefield Wildcats 32-30.

And he looks to have paid the price by being dropped from officiating this weekend’s round of top-flight matches.

On Sunday’s error, Wildcats head coach Richard Agar said in his post-match press conference: “The biggest disappointment for me is a try on the seventh tackle from Simon Grix.

“We’ve had two already this season fairly and squarely ruled out for forward passes and then we get a try on the seventh tackle. It makes it a little bit of a bitter pill to swallow.”

Richard Silverwood will referee two matches, Friday’s game between Wigan Warriors and Warrington and Sunday’s game between Widnes Vikings and London Broncos.

Robert Hicks will referee Wakefield’s home game against Catalan Dragons.
