STEFAN Ratchford ran-in a hat-trick for Salford City Reds as Wakefield Trinity Wildcats suffered a 34-12 Super League XVI defeat at The Willows.

Tommy Lee’s surging run and touch-down, converted by Gareth Moore, gave the visitors an early lead but the Reds responded with four scores before the break.

Ratchford’s brace and tries from Daniel Holdsworth and Jodie Broughton steered the hosts into a 16-6 lead at the break.

Lee Jewitt, Luke Adamson and Ratchford’s hat-trick score put Salford out of reach before the Wildcats grabbed a consolation through new signing Jarrad Hickey.
