ENGLAND star full-back Sam Tomkins completed a hat-trick and kicked six goals as Wigan Warriors eased to a 52-10 Stobart Super league XVII win at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
Peter Fox burst over the whitewash to give Wakefield the lead early on but the table toppers' response was emphatic.
Tomkins started the fight back with a score under the sticks and Gareth Hock powered over to add to Wigan's tally.
Tomkins went over again six minutes before the break and George Carmont scored the first of his three tries to put the visitors 22-4 up at half-time.
Harrison Hansen crossed to extend Wigan's advantage before Iain Thornley scored two in quick succession.
Carmont added to his personal tally and Tomkins celebrated his hat-trick with a terrific individual effort.
Trinity stopped the rot briefly through Ben Cockayne's try, improved by Sykes, but Warriors had the final say when Tomkins put Carmont in for his third of the game.
