AS REPORTED in last week’s Wakefield Express (September 23), Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have appointed Martin Clawson as their new strength and conditioning coach.

Former Bradford Northern player Clawson has penned a three-year contract at Wakefield after 12 months as fitness coach at Barrow Raiders. He previously worked at Crusaders and Bradford Bulls.

Wildcats chief executive James Elston said: “Martin is a great guy and has proven that he is very good at his job.

“He is determined to get results from his players and I am confident that with Martin and the rest of the team’s hard work, we will see a fit, strong and powerful side over the next three years.”

Clawson said: “I was very fortunate to receive a number of offers but I was keen to accept the Wakefield one and be a part of the exciting future that lies ahead.

“The Wildcats are a club that are on the up and I’m looking forward to further developing the team.

“Richard Agar is a highly respected coach and working alongside him is another factor that drew me to the position.”
