Wakefield Wildcats captain Glenn Morrison misses out on Exiles team

WAKEFIELD Wildcats captain Glenn Morrison has missed out on a place in the 17-man Exiles squad to face England at Headingley on Friday.

Morrison was called up by Exiles coach Brian McClennan last week to complete his 18-man squad but will be used as an 18th man reserve for Friday’s inaugural CarPlan International Origin match.

It means Wakefield have no players involved in the 17-man squads for the contest while Huddersfield Giants, who Wildcats face in Super League on Sunday, have three players involved.

Former Wakefield man Ben Westwood, now at Warrington Wolves, is included in Steve McNamara’s England squad, but there is no place for Ryan Atkins.

Huddersfield’s former Wakefield scrum-half Danny Brough won’t be involved after being ruled out of action for eight weeks after injuring his ankle in the Giants’ 40-18 win over Castleford Tigers at the weekend.
