WAKEFIELD Trinity Wildcats stunned Super League XVI high fliers Huddersfield Giants with a deserved 13-10 win at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
John Kear’s men took a 10-0 lead into the break thanks to an early try from the outstanding Luke George and a conversion and two penalties from the equally impressive Gareth Moore on his home debut.
Moore was on target again with a goal in the second period before Shaun Lunt’s try and Leroy Cudjoe’s extras opened the Giants’ account.
Wakefield replied through Moore’s drop goal and although Jamie Cording bagged a second try for the visitors, the Wildcats held firm to take the points.
