Despite the disappointing 42-18 loss to Hull KR in the final Super League game of the season on Sunday, there was one moment to savour for Wakefield fans when their team’s final try was scored by Andy Raleigh in his last game before retirement.
It was a fitting way for Raleigh to end a fantastic career and after the game he posted on Twitter: “Great to finish playing with a try.”
Trinity fans lined-up to congratulate Raleigh. Antony Richardson tweeted: “Congrats on a great career mate. Brilliant try.”
David Sowerby added: “Well pleased to see ya cross the line. Thanks for everything.”
Tony Bowling tweeted: “Congrats on a great career and a try in your last match. You’ve earned the rest.”
