WAKEFIELD Trinity Wildcats have announced that Crusaders centre Vince Mellars will join the club in 2012.
The 27-year-old, who has spent two years in Super League with the Welsh club, has penned a three-year deal at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
Mellors, who has scored 16 tries in 41 appearances for Crusaders, also has a wealth of NRL experience with New Zealand Warriors, Cronulla Sharks and Sydney.
He featured against Wakefield in Crusaders’ 40-16 victory last time out in Super League, chipping in with one try.
Mellars said: “I’m very happy to be coming to Wakefield and I’m really looking forward to the next three years here.
“It’s a big relief to have my future sorted and I’m very pleased that it’s here at the Wildcats.”
“The club seems like an awesome place to be, surrounded by good people and a great atmosphere. With the announcement of the new Super League licence and a great future ahead of them, I can’t wait to be a part of great things at Wakefield.”
“I’d like to thank James Elston and Andrew Glover for the opportunity and I would like to wish all the players at Crusaders my very best.”
Wildcats chief executive James Elston added: “We are thrilled to have secured Vince’s signature for the next three years. He is an incredibly talented player and certainly knows how to get over the try line”
“He is a dynamic and versatile player and his presence in the Wildcats squad over the next three seasons will be a great boost. I’m very much looking forward to seeing Vince in the Wildcats shirt and I would like to welcome him and his family to Wakefield.”
Mellars follows last week’s quartet of players to pledge their future to Wakefield in Oliver Wilkes, Ryan Tongia, Andy Ellis and Samy Masselot.
