SANDAL RUFC first team will be hoping to replicate their 15-3 win at Middlesbrough last weekend when they entertain National League 3 North high-fliers Bradford and Bingley on Saturday.
It will be Sandal’s first meeting with Bradford and Bingley this season and Jim Kilfoyle’s men will be aiming to vanquish the second-placed visitors, who are seeking a return to National 2 North at their first attempt.
The Bees started the season somewhat shakily but their form improved with the introduction of new head coach and ex-England A and Natal Sharks prop Martin Whitcombe last October.
Sandal have made a couple of changes to their match day squad with Dave Martin returning, James Duggan switching to the second row due to the unavailability of Rob Overton and Tom Hirst taking over the number six shirt.
Angus Moran, director of rugby at Sandal said “We have been more than happy with our performances over the last three weeks and are looking forward to the visit of the Bees.
“We are enjoying the challenge of this league and feel we are getting acclimatised to the level of intensity required.
“We know that we will be tested to the full this weekend but we are confident in our ability and that we can certainly pose them a few problems.”
Sandal squad (home, kick-off 2.15pm): T Hodson, A Orr, D Mitchell, A Hall, D McCormack, D Martin, G Wood, M Whittingham, J Purcell, J Heron, R Norbury, A Norbury, J Riley, J Duggan, B Brindley, T Hirst, A Burgess, A Thompson.
