Eastmoor Dragons were held to a 38-38 draw against Stanningley in a pulsating clash at the bottom of National Conference League Division 2 on Saturday.
Dragons went into Saturday’s game eager for maximum points to help move them away from relegation danger.
But Stanningley, who sit two points below the King George V playing fields club, ensured their hosts remained embroiled in a battle at the bottom with a point in the evenly-contested tussle.
Russ Cartmell’s try, complemented by a Callum Smithson conversion, gave the visitors a point after Eastmoor led going into the closing stages.
Arnold Mawere scored a try and five goals, while Greg Wilby(2), Andrew Smith, John Talbot, Caine McVittie and Ashley Allman also crossed the whitewash for the hosts.
The sides meet again on Saturday when Dragons make the trip to Leeds for the return match (kick-off 2.30pm).
