Wakefield Trinity Wildcats head coach Richard Agar has named an unchanged 19-man squad to face Catalans Dragons at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium on Saturday (kick-off 5.05pm).
Prop Justin Poore is again included and is expected to return to action after missing out on last Friday’s victory at Widnes Vikings due to a knee problem.
Wildcats decided against risking Poore on the Widnes ‘i-pitch’ but the Australian should be fit and ready to return against the French side this weekend.
Richard Mathers remains Wakefield’s only senior absentee with an ankle injury. The visit of Dragons comes too soon for a return for the full-back but Agar says Mathers could be in contention for next week’s Tetley’s Challenge Cup fifth round tie at Hull FC.
“He’s back up and running again,” said Agar.
“His primary injury has healed and his ankle is the thing that’s holding him up at the moment now.
“He’s just got to make sure his ankle is back. He won’t be right this week but he’s a chance of being fit for next week.”
Vincent Duport replaces Jason Baitier in the only change to the Catalans 19-man squad.
Wildcats’ 19-man squad: Fox, Collis, L Smith, Cockayne, Sykes, T Smith, Poore, Aiton, Raleigh, Lauitiiti, Kirmond, Washbrook, Wood, Amor, Wilkes, Mellars, Lyne, Annakin, Molloy.
Catalans’ 19-man squad: Blanch, Pryce, Taia, Bosc, Henderson, Casty, Mounis, Barthau, Maria, Pelissier, Larroyer, Pala, Simon, Fakir, Paea, Duport, Vaccari, Baile, Escare.
