WAKEFIELD Trinity Wildcats prop Matt James has been hit with a one-match ban and £300 fine by the RFL’s disciplinary committee.

James was charged with a Grade B offence for the use of an elbow on Carl Foster in Friday’s Super League defeat against St Helens at Langtree Park.

The committee found him guilty of the offence on Wednesday afternoon but James escaped a potential two-match suspension.

His one-match ban means he’ll miss Wakefield’s next Super League game at home against Warrington Wolves on Sunday, May 20.
