Blaymire returns as Wakefield Wildcats reserves defeat Featherstone Rovers

A WAKEFIELD Wildcats reserve side combining youth and experience triumphed 28-16 in their friendly clash with Featherstone Rovers last night, Wednesday.

Matt Blaymire, marking his comeback from injury, and Kyle Bibb played in the game at the Bigfellas Stadium and Wildcats head coach John Kear said: "Featherstone are a good side and it was a useful run-out.

"Matt (Blaymire] was outstanding and he looked like he has never been away."

Papua New Guinea centre Lasen Marabe scored a hat-trick of tries for Rovers but it wasn't enough for the hosts in a game that attracted a crowd of around 500.

Wakefield Wildcats have another reserve trial game organised for next Wednesday (February 17) when they entertain Hunslet Hawks at the Hearwell Stadium (7.30pm).
