The Tetley’s Challenge Cup Fourth Round tie between Hemel Stags and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats has been moved to the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
The draw pitted Wildcats with a trip to Hemel Hempstead’s Pennine Way ground but the match has now been switched to Wakefield on Saturday, April 20 (kick-off 6pm).
Stags chief executive Bob Brown said the Championship 1 club looked to play the game locally but could not find an option suitable to host Super League opposition.
“After extensive discussions between the Rugby Football League and the club both parties recognise that while Pennine Way is appropriate for Championship 1 and Championship matches it does not currently meet the minimum standards to host Super League opponents,” he said.
“Other local options were explored but were not available to us. Both parties are disappointed to miss this opportunity to showcase the sport at a high level in Hemel Hempstead.
“After discussions with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats they have kindly agreed to host the fixture on Saturday 20th April at 6.00pm.”
Tickets for the match will be priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.
