A TALENTED young footballer from Wakefield has proved he has Premier League potential by signing for Manchester City’s Academy.
Jerome Greaves caught the attention of the City scouts while playing for Rothwell Juniors and will be looking to work his way up through the junior ranks of the Premier League giants.
The eight-year-old, who attends Jerry Clay Lane Junior and Infants school in Wrenthorpe, has signed on at under-9 level - the youngest age professional clubs are allowed to sign players.
It’s a dream come true for the Wakefield football fanatic and the first step on the long ladder towards playing professional football.
Jerome, who lives in Thorpe, still has a long way to go before achieving his ultimate aim of playing first-team football.
But the impressive feat of signing for the Eastlands club at such an early age will give him plenty of confidence for the future.
