WRENTHORPE will play South Yorkshire League Premier Division champions Whitley Hall in the final of the Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions Trophy.
Wrens defeated York earlier this month to book their first-ever appearance in the competition’s showpiece but they had to wait until yesterday, Sunday, to learn who they would play.
And it was Hall who produced an impressive performance to defeat reigning Bradford League champions Pudsey Congs by seven wickets in the second semi-final at the Britannia Ground.
Congs reached 236-7 in their innings with Adam Patel (63) and Gareth Phillips (41) at the forefront of the scoring.
But Hall eased to 240-3 in reply courtesy of good scoring from Neil Longhurst (92), Jim Tasker (55 not out) and Chris Siddall (53).
