BUDDING cricketers have the chance to brush up on their skills with bat and ball at Ossett Cricket Club during the school half term.
Yorkshire all-rounder Rich Pyrah and former White Rose batsman John Sadler, both from Ossett, will run the courses from Monday, May 30-Friday, June 3.
Both Pyrah, who made a superb start to the 2011 season before suffering a knee injury which will keep him sidelined until the end of the month, and Sadler, who started his career with Yorkshire before moving on for spells with Leicestershire and Derbyshire, played for Ossett as youngsters before being selected for the Yorkshire Academy.
The duo have set-up ‘First Class Cricket Coaching’ to help coach young cricket players from around the Wakefield district.
They held their first courses at Ossett CC during the Easter holidays and are looking to coach even more young cricketers from around the district this time.
Youngsters will have the chance to take part in training drills that are used at Yorkshire CCC to help improve their abilities.
A course for U8s-U12s will run on the Monday and Tuesday, costing £40, while a course for U13s-U16s will run on the Wednesday to Friday, costing £60. The cost to take part in one day is £25.
Courses start at 10am each day and finish at 3pm.
