HUNDREDS of mourners have paid their last respects to Rifleman Luke Farmer at Wakefield Cathedral this morning. (Friday)
The Cathedral was packed with the friends, family and colleagues of 19-year-old Luke, from Upton, who was killed in Afghanistan last month.
Civic dignitaries, including the Mayor of Wakefield, Heather Hudson, and Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, Dr Ingrid Roscoe gave readings while tributes from Luke's fellow soldiers were also made.
Thousands of people across the district also fell silent at noon as part in Luke's honour.
