LEEDS United have named Simon Grayson as their new manager.
Grayson will take on the role with immediate effect following two seasons at the helm of Championship side Blackpool.

The 39-year-old became a front-runner for the vacant manager's role at Elland Road following the sacking of Gary McAllister last Sunday.

The Seasiders had intially blocked United's approach to talk to Grayson, who is under contract at Blackpool until the summer of 2010.

Grayson tendered his resignation this morning but it was not accepted by Blackpool, who have announced on the club's website that they are now considering legal action against Grayson and Leeds United.
