Final preparations are being made for this year’s Long Division festival which is just a month away.

Wakefield indie rockers The Cribs will headline the festival in their first homecoming gig in seven years.

The group will also perform an under 18s gig on the Friday afternoon, supported by The Spills.

The festival of music, art and comedy runs at venues across the city from Friday, September 12 and Sunday, September 14.

Other acts confirmed for the event include The Wedding Present, Gruff Rhys, Slow Club, Toy, Mazes, psychetain, Tuff Love, country and folk signer Sam Airey, Too many T’s, High Hazels and electronic pop band Patterns.

Dean Freeman, festival organiser, said: “With one month to go I can’t wait to open the gates for Long Division 2014.

“This year is our biggest line-up yet and with all the extra activities and stages for under 18s it has something for everyone.”

Organisers expect more than 4,000 people to attend the festival over the weekend.

Performance venues include Unity Works Major and Minor Hall, Warehouse 23, PLayers, Havana and Westgate Chapel.

The Orangery, on Back Lane, will have a stage exclusively for under 18s on the Saturday.

Tickets can be bought from Wah Wah Records, Jumbo Records, Crash Records, Debut Records and See Tickets.

Tickets for The Cribs cost £30 with tickets for Saturday priced at £22.50.

Under 18s tickets for The Cribs cost £10.
