Performances to suit every taste are on offer at Wakefield College’s Art festival.
The event, which will run until Thursday, June 20, features renditions of everything from the hit show Godspell to Shakespeare’s Midsummer Nights Dream and an original show called a Story of Splendour that is set in India.
Performances will take place at the college’s new performing arts centre, which is housed in the old museum on Wood Street and will be officially opened later today, as well as at Theatre Royal Wakefield and Thornes Park.
Marie Dalton, the college’s programme manager for performing arts, said: “The festival is designed to give the students more of a professional opportunity to showcase their work. It is has all been done in a very short time frame, but once again promises to be another successful event.”
