Return of the Goth Queen

tours with the Sisters of Mercy, the patronage of John Peel and beating The Smiths and New Order to the top of the independent album charts – when such things really mattered – were among the highlights of Anne-Marie Hurst’s career with seminal 80s goth bands Skeletal Family and Ghost Dance.

After more than two decades out of the limelight, she’s now back on the live circuit and has a recently-released solo album Day Of All Days to promote.

Songs from that and a healthy smattering of classics from the 80s will be on the agenda when she plays at The Hop tonight, with Skeletal Family members Stan Greenwood and Roger Nowell in the backing band.

Old Spook Squad members will be interested to know it’s doors at 8pm and £6 entry, with Rhombus in support.
