Michael returns to Leeds

comedian Michael McIntyre returns to Leeds in June when he plays at the City Varieties Music Hall.

The date is a warm-up for his arena tour this autumn, which will be his biggest tour to date.

Michael said: “I did three nights at the City Varieties last year and loved it. It’s a beautiful venue and a great intimate space for this kind of gig.”

Michael has appeared three times on BBC One’s Live at the Apollo and also on the Royal Variety Peformance – becoming its youngest ever host in 2010 – as well as his own show Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.

He is also a regular guest on comedy panel shows, including Chris Moyles’ Quiz Night, Mock the Week, 8 out of 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You, The Big Fat Quiz of the Year and Would I Lie To You.

Michael has also been a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, alongside David Hasselhoff and Amanda Holden, and was a guest judge on Let’s Dance for Comic Relief.

He has also hosted the BBC’s Red Nose Day, taken part in Channel 4’s Comedy Gala for Great Ormond Street Hospital and made a variety of appearances on radio, including as a guest on Desert Island Discs.

He has released two stand-up DVDs, Live and Laughing in 2008 and Michael McIntyre: Hello Wembley in 2009, filmed as part of his record-breaking six-night run at Wembley Arena and is the fastest selling stand-up DVD in chart history, selling more than a million copies.

His autumn arena tour will see him take in ten UK cities as well as Dublin across 58 dates.
