Pigeons on House bill

SOUTH Leeds’s very own Pigeon Detectives have been added to the bill of the new MFEST event being held at Harewood House this summer.

The food and music festival, organised by supermarket Morrisons, will be taking place on the weekend of July 7 and 8 and is already boasting an impressive line-up of stars.

Pop phenomenon Steps, currently in the middle of a UK arena tour, have also been announced as joining the bill for the city’s newest festival.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Lawson, Delilah, and BibleCode Sundays have been added to the bill, which also includes Texas, Human League, Matt Cardle, Beverley Knight, Paul Heaton and the Inspiral Carpets.

On the food side, world-renowned pastry chef and Masterchef judge Clare Clark, from California’s French Laundry restaurant, will be hosting afternoon tea and cakes at MFEST.

As well as the line up of current chart acts, breakthrough artists and heritage bands, MFEST will include fabulous food stalls, cookery demonstrations from some of the UK’s top chefs, Q&As with sporting legends and children’s entertainers to make the festival fun while appealing to the whole family.

It’s also been announced that MFEST weekend camping passes have now gone on sale. Festival-goers have two options: either bring their own tent, or hire anything from a two-person tent to a six-person tipi at the site.

A camping pass for three nights - Friday, Saturday and Sunday - is £40 for adults and £20 for children aged 11-16. Children under 10 can camp for free.
