The popular coffee chain had previously closed all 2,700 of its stores as part of the UK's lockdown.

After more than a month of closures, Costa reopened four stores last week, and has now confirmed plans to reopen 29 more.

The selected units will open from tomorrow (Saturday, May 2) for drive through and delivery purchases only.

Among these are Wakefield's Snowhill Retail Park and Leeds' Crown Point - though the Leeds store will reopen for delivery only.

Confirming their plans in a tweet, Costa said: "Since opening 2 Drive-Thru & 2 delivery stores last Friday we’ve had a fantastic response from our team members & customers.

"As such, & with the support of the Government, we will be increasing the number of Drive-Thru lanes & stores open for delivery via Uber Eats from tomorrow."

Earlier this week, fast food chain KFC confirmed that their Westgate Retail Park store would be among the first to reopen.
