Knottingley and Ferrybridge are regeneration priorities for the council and the masterplan is a document that sets out a vision for how the area will develop and grow.

It is about showing the future of the town centre, residential and business land uses.

Delivery of the masterplan will be a partnership approach with the council, developers and partner organisations all working together to ensure significant private sector investment happens and much needed employment opportunities materialise.

The draft masterplan goes on display this month in four local centres, and online.

People are being asked to give their views on their priorities in a range of areas that affect everyone’s day to day life, such as recreation, the environment, shopping and travel routes.

The council tried to consult with residents in March but because of the coronavirus pandemic it wasn’t possible to hold events, so people now have the opportunity to have their say.

“We are very ambitious for all our towns in the district and as we plan for economic recovery of our district from Coronavirus, the consultation is very important as we are looking to the future. I’m urging residents to get involved, let us know their thoughts on the Masterplan with its focus on the growth and development of Knottingley and Ferrybridge.”
