Starbucks reopens Wakefield branches for takeaway coffee

Two of Wakefield's Starbucks stores have reopened for takeaway orders.

The coffee giant joined thousands of other retailers in closing their doors in March as part of the government lockdown to help slow the spread of coronavirus.

And their Wakefield branches have remained closed ever since.

The newly reopened stores will serve a "near-complete beverage menu", with some of the chain's most popular food items also on offer.

Staff have been trained in more frequent cleaning and sanitising of surfaces, the company said, and will be encouraging social distancing in store, as well as contactless payments where possible.

They are also offering free Tall hot drinks to NHS staff with a valid badge.

Starbucks' Calder Park and Snowhill Drive Thru's are now open to all customers.

The Trinity Walk store and new City Fields site remain closed at this time.
