This provision will be in line with Government guidelines, providing appropriate mitigations are put in place and transmission levels remain around or below current levels.

From August 15, the Government has allowed the restart of indoor performances to a live audience and some entertainment in venues who have undertaken the necessary risk assessment to ensure they are COVID-secure.

The Council has provided businesses with a downloadable guide on what they need to do if they wish to provide entertainment.

The guide includes advice on audience size, how to manage social distancing and suggestions of other steps businesses can take to help keep their customers safe.

Cllr Darren Byford, Wakefield Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Regenerations, said: “Although these are really exciting steps for our local businesses to be taking to get back to some form of normality, we must be really careful we are following Government guidelines to keep people safe.
