Greggs to reopen in Wakefield, Pontefract and Castleford this week

Popular baker Greggs is to open hundreds of its shops this week after temporary closures during lockdown.

The bakery chain, which has more than 2,050 outlets, announced it will repen its shops at Carlton Street, Castleford, Market Place in Pontefract and Snowill, Stanley Road and Trinity Walk in Wakefield from Thursday.

There would be floor markings in the shops to help people maintain social distancing with protective screens at the counters, PPE equipment for staff, additional cleaning and more hand sanitiser. Customers will also be encouraged to make contactless payments.

It said planned to reopen all its remaining shops from early July.
